Mixtures & Elixirs

Mixtures & Elixirs
For thousands of years, our ancestors maintained a close relationship with all aspects of nature. They used herbs to create a vast array of magical substances.Precious ointments were rubbed onto the body to attain magical transformations, brews were sipped or sprinkled to ward off evil and negativity, and fragrant barks and woods was thrown onto hot coals to release their healing scents and and spiritual powers.
Today, we are the keepers of the old ways. We anoint our candles, we send the sweet aromas of incence to the heavens, and drink brews in celebration.
These are the tools we use to transform our lives and, therefore, ourselves.

Bath Salts

The basic ingredients are
table salt,
baking soda
and Epsom salts.

3 parts Epsom salts
2 parts baking soda
1 part table salt
When mixed thoroughly, this is your base for any bath salts you wish to make.
Plain food coloring can and should be use to add additional color healing and power to your bath.
Then you can add essential oils, one drop at a time.
It is also important to visualize the energies within the oils merging with eachother and with the salt. Keep the salt's magical goal in mind while you stir.

It is also recommended to speak your intent such as:

(Healing Bath)
I charge you by the Sun and Moon
(or any deity you pray to)
to consume disease.
To wash away it's causes and to heal

(Protective Bath)
I charge you,,,,,,,,
To drive away negativity and evil.
To wash away it's influences and to leave
a pure state of being.

More alternatives:
to spread peace and wellbeing,
to bring unconditional love
to bring happiness and prosperity

The idea is to make this your own!

( You will have to use you nose to judge, I usually make batches of 3 cups, 2 cups, 1 cup)

( Caution! Please be careful, because of the baking soda, Bathsalts should not be capped tightly in jar because of pressure build up.)

Incense
Incense has been smoldered on priests' and magicains' alters for atleast 5,000 years.
The reasons for incense varies.Purification, healing, attraction of energies, carrying prayers to the Gods.
Mostly it is burned during magic to promote the state of mind necessary to rouse and direct personal energy.
Incenses are composed of a variety of dried leaves, flowers, roots, barks, resins, gums and oils. Semiprecious stones may also be added to incenses to lend their energies to the mixtures.
The incense I will be mentioning here are noncombustible.Unlike stick and cone incense, these will not burn on their own.
A charcoal block/button is needed and a censor.
Light a self-igniting charcoal block and place it in a censor.(A censor can be anything that can handle heat, remember to cover the bottom of it with sand or salt)
After the charcoal is done sparking and starts glowing, use a small spoon and sprinkle a half teaspoon or so of incense on the lit block.Sprinkle small amounts as not to extinguish the charcoal block.
Incense can be burned as part of a magical ritual, to honor higher forces, or as a direct act of magic, such as to clear a house of negativity and to bring peaceful vibrations throughout it.
