Healings and Prayers

This has been a terrible day in America's History. Today just before 9:00AM the first of two commercial jet aircraft was crashed into the World Trade Center in New York. Twenty minutes later, the second... Then a few minutes later, the Pentagon was rammed with a third aircraft. Then a fourth plane bound for the Presidential retreat, Camp David was crashed into a field near Philadelphia. I want to say a prayer for all those killed and injured on this day. Please say prayers for all those people injured and killed today and their families.

Goddess, Blessed Mother, please stand by Silver Sun, my Sister of my heart and my friend, in her time of need.
Give her the strength to be there for her daughter,
May Ophelia pull through the crisis that they now face together.
May the Love of All Bless and keep the family safe.
May the Love of this Community support Silver Sun, and Ophelia and thier family.
So Mote it be.

I write this because Ophelia has been in ICU and is now going through a difficult time. We do not know if she will pull through. May our prayers and Healings help Ophelia, Silver Sun and the family.

Sigh. This is NOT easy to write. From what my aunt and I can gather, from what precious little information we have at our disposal, we believe that the woman who told my aunt about first little Brittany, and now the twins, has been decieving my Aunt.

According to what my aunt was told, there was to be an obituary notice for little Brittany, in the ONLY newspaper in the area. My uncle picks up that newspaper religously. There was NO notice in the paper.

When Ivy was to come to my aunt's house, so my aunt could meet the mother of the babies she was to adopt, there would be 'convieniently' something gone wrong.... tire problems, a car wreck, sudden possible pre mature labor.... you name it, and there was something keeping my aunt and Ivy from meeting.

NOW: A sixteen year old young woman who wants to go to college, wants to have the chance to try to raise twins, alone and from what my Aunt was told, not really WANTING to be a mother, prior to having the kids, suddenly gung ho on raising the kids....

I hate to be suspicious, but this is TOO convienient, and sounds too wrong.

On a completely different, yet somewhat the same note.... IF all goes well with my Aunt's health, I should know by October 11th if she can come up to spend Thanksgiving and the week following with me in Chicago. I hope she can, because I think the break from all of the stress and reminders will help.

If anyone cares to light a candle to help with things... I would greatly appreciate it.

Sorry to have been so slow on posting this, but I've been so upset by the whole situation with the twins, I've not wanted to think about it. And if I do think about it too much, I get very very angry.

TO UPDATE MY AUNT'S SITUATION: I have found out, that Gods willing, and if all goes according to plan, that a young woman by the name of Ivy will be letting my aunt and uncle adopt her twins when they are born, one boy one girl. From what I have been told, the arrival / due date is some time in August. My Aunt cannot wait, and yet at the same time, after Brittany, I can understand that she does NOT want her heart broken again. All that I do ask is that anyone willing to help, by sending any positive energies her way, towards a favorable outcome, I would greatly apreciate it. So I can have some new first cousins to love and spoil absolutelly ROTTEN! ;-) Tallayaræ RowanSinger Kælestaria DragonHeart

I was talking with Belladonna, one of our "Missing Members". I learned from our discussion, that she has growths on her thyroid, and is now having radiation treatments to take care of the problem. Bella's problem is complicated by the fact that she is diabetic as well. So if we can all keep her in mind as we do any Workings, all the positive energy that we can send her is sure to help. In a town near Frankfort Ks, Seneca, two boys take off from a party one 18, lives in Frankfort the other 17, lives in Seneca. At 5 o'clock thismorning both the boys are airlifted to a hospital in Topeka. The 17 yr old has massive injuries to his head and is in stable but critical condition and is currently listed in acoma. The other, the 18 yr old had only(thank the godess) a concussion, a broken ankle and a scraped up face. I ask that you send out your healing especially for the critical boy who may not wake up from the coma. The moral of this story is if you go to a party with someone make sure one of you is sober so that you can be the responsible DD (Designated Driver). I can't tell you not to drink but I can ask that you please not drink and drive... With that in mind...Brave the front, Merry the weather. Love the Earth and dance together. Merry ye meet, merry ye part and merry ye meet again. Blessed be! ~Atira

Forgive me for this, but I must ask. My aunt cannot have children. On Sunday, I learned that she had the opportunity to adopt a 7 month old baby, Brittany. Brittany's mother had not thought of her daughter's safety before taking her out in the cold, so that the young woman could go partying. Brittany was dressed in a short sleeved shirt, no blanket or coat to keep the baby warm. Brittany got sick, was in the hospital with pneumonia. My aunt knew this, she was ready to stay at the hospital until little Brittany would be ready to come home. Unfortunatly, Brittany died on Monday, at 4am Eastern time, before the hearing to give her to my aunt. If you can please, pray for Brittany's spirit's easing, and to aid my aunt, I would greatly appreciate it. If I were not so far away, my aunt is in WV, and I am in Chicago, I would be there. This is the only way I can help the situation. Thank you all for any help you can offer. Tallayarae RowanSinger

Mixtures & Elixirs

Mixtures & Elixirs
For thousands of years, our ancestors maintained a close relationship with all aspects of nature. They used herbs to create a vast array of magical substances.Precious ointments were rubbed onto the body to attain magical transformations, brews were sipped or sprinkled to ward off evil and negativity, and fragrant barks and woods was thrown onto hot coals to release their healing scents and and spiritual powers.
Today, we are the keepers of the old ways. We anoint our candles, we send the sweet aromas of incence to the heavens, and drink brews in celebration.
These are the tools we use to transform our lives and, therefore, ourselves.

Bath Salts

The basic ingredients are
table salt,
baking soda
and Epsom salts.

3 parts Epsom salts
2 parts baking soda
1 part table salt
When mixed thoroughly, this is your base for any bath salts you wish to make.
Plain food coloring can and should be use to add additional color healing and power to your bath.
Then you can add essential oils, one drop at a time.
It is also important to visualize the energies within the oils merging with eachother and with the salt. Keep the salt's magical goal in mind while you stir.

It is also recommended to speak your intent such as:

(Healing Bath)
I charge you by the Sun and Moon
(or any deity you pray to)
to consume disease.
To wash away it's causes and to heal

(Protective Bath)
I charge you,,,,,,,,
To drive away negativity and evil.
To wash away it's influences and to leave
a pure state of being.

More alternatives:
to spread peace and wellbeing,
to bring unconditional love
to bring happiness and prosperity

The idea is to make this your own!

( You will have to use you nose to judge, I usually make batches of 3 cups, 2 cups, 1 cup)

( Caution! Please be careful, because of the baking soda, Bathsalts should not be capped tightly in jar because of pressure build up.)

Incense
Incense has been smoldered on priests' and magicains' alters for atleast 5,000 years.
The reasons for incense varies.Purification, healing, attraction of energies, carrying prayers to the Gods.
Mostly it is burned during magic to promote the state of mind necessary to rouse and direct personal energy.
Incenses are composed of a variety of dried leaves, flowers, roots, barks, resins, gums and oils. Semiprecious stones may also be added to incenses to lend their energies to the mixtures.
The incense I will be mentioning here are noncombustible.Unlike stick and cone incense, these will not burn on their own.
A charcoal block/button is needed and a censor.
Light a self-igniting charcoal block and place it in a censor.(A censor can be anything that can handle heat, remember to cover the bottom of it with sand or salt)
After the charcoal is done sparking and starts glowing, use a small spoon and sprinkle a half teaspoon or so of incense on the lit block.Sprinkle small amounts as not to extinguish the charcoal block.
Incense can be burned as part of a magical ritual, to honor higher forces, or as a direct act of magic, such as to clear a house of negativity and to bring peaceful vibrations throughout it.

These are one-herb incenses that can be easily burned on charcoal when needed.
Simply grind and empower them before use.

Superstitious

Apples'An apple a day keeps the doctor away,' goes the saying. Who doesn't like apples? They are delicious, contain potassium, Vitamin A, pectin and unless you are Snow White and have a wicked stepmother, apples are good for you.
The applefruit has been an important part of the most ancient folk-lore ever since the Bible told of how Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
In ancient Ireland, it was one of the three things that could only be paid for by living objects, the others being a hazel bush and a sacred grove. It grew in the Celtic Paradise. The mysterious land to which King Arthur was taken for the healing of his wounds was the Vale of Avalon, the Apple vale.
Many omens and charms are associated with apples. A Hallowtide game was for all the unmarried young people to fasten an apple apiece on a string and twirl it around before a hot fire. The one whose apple fell off first would be the first to marry.
If the apple was peeled in one long strip, and the peeling thrown backwards over the left shoulder, the shape it made showed the initial of the future wife or husband.
Apple-wassailing (or Apple-howling) was a ceremony of the Christmas season, performed usually on the Twelfth Night. Everyone went to the Orchard at dusk and one tree was chosen to represent all. The company drunk to it and threw cider over its roots. Lots of noice was needed to rouse the sleeping tree-spirit and drive away the spirits of ill-luck. Songs were sung and all of them started with 'Hail to Thee, old Apple Tree' and kindly ask the tree to bear well and generously. The orchards are still wassailed in some countries.
Apples have been growing on Earth long before they appeared in the book of Genesis. Some historians date the cultivation of the apple back to the Stone Age. That's a million years ago and a lot of applesauce since!

The AlbatrossIn the days of sail, an albatross flying round a ship in mid-ocean was an omen of wind and bad weather to come. It was very unlucky to kill it because it was thought to embody the restless soul of some dead mariner. Echoes of these time-honored traditions were heard in July 1959 when the cargo liner, Calpean Star, docked at Liverpool with engine trouble, after a voyage from the Antarctic that had been dogged by many misfortunes. The crew blamed these on the presence on board of an albatross destined for a zoo. Fifty of the crew staged a sit-down strike because they were unwilling to continue their unlucky voyage. The captain is reported in the Daily Telegraph of July 7, 1959 that it had required some courage on his part to bring the albatross on board in the first place. And most of his crew still believed that the bird would bring bad weather or misfortune, or that it was connected with the souls of the dead.

BedsGetting up in the morning is still more important than going to bed. And getting out of the bed on the right side (as opposed to the wrong side) is vital for the coming day.
It seems that this superstition originated from the idea that anything left-handed was unnatural, on the basis that the majority of humans were right-handed! Left feet were unlucky, as were left hands, so that getting out of bed on the left side had also to be considered unlucky.
Bed-making must also be performed according to certain rules.
When making the bed, don't interrupt your work, or you will spend a restless night in it -
Avoid sneezing, or the soul rushes out of the body and into the bed and again will bring poor sleep -(those poor folks with hayfever!!!)
Never turn a mattress on a Sunday -
If you make a bedspread, make sure to finish it or marriage will never come to you.

BellsThe sound of church bells was once believed to drive away demons, that brought storms and pestilence. But in pre-Christian times as well as later, ordinary bells were used to defeat spirits. The idea that these entities dislike loud noises still survives in some crop-protecting customs of the Balkans and Central Europe.
Church bells were often pealed during thunderstorms to prevent damage by lightning, and to protect those withing hearing range. Wherever this bell sounds, let the power of enemy retire, so also the shadow of phantoms, the assault of whirlwinds, the stroke of lightnings, the harm of thunders, the injuries of tempests, and every spirit of the storm-winds.
Ordinary bells have their superstitious lore as well as those connected with churches. If one rings, the omen is bad. If two ring at the same time, it is a sign of parting. If one stays silent and places a finger over the lips during the ringing, the omen may be averted.

BroomsThe early household broom, or besom, was made from the broom plant, or from birch twigs or heather, and shared some of the traditional lore attached to these plants. It was also considered a feminine symbol, and if the woman of the house wanted to indicate that she was not at home, she placed her besom outside her front door.
That witches rode on brooms was a very common belief. The choice of a broomstick as a likely means of transportation is probably due to the fertility association of the broom plant and the female connection of the besom, and the broom got associated with many magical spells.
Follow these tips and you can insure yourself against the evil spirits lurking in or around your broom.
Never take a broom along when you move. Throw it out and buy a new one.
Do not lean a broom against a bed. The evil spirits in the broom will cast a spell on the bed. No one wants bad luck in bed.
If you drop a broom, you will soon have company. It is best just to pick up the broom and clean up a bit, just in case that company drops in.

Birthday CakeWe place candles on a birthday cake and blow them out with a wish.
The very concept of the birthday celebration is as ancient a superstition as any. The blowing out of the candles began with the Greek tradition in honor of the birthday of Artemis, goddess of the moon, marriage and childbirth. For this occasion special cakes were baked in the shape of the moon and candles were placed on altars within the temple. During the celebration the candles were to be blown out with one breath, and Artemis would then gaze favorably upon her worshippers.

CatsThe cat has always had a very special place in folk-belief. At various times, and in different places, it has been regarded as holy or as a diabolical beast, as a bringer of good fortune or as an omen of evil. In antiquity it was sacred to more than one divinity.
The Egyptian Bast was cat-headed and attended by cats. To kill one was sacrilege.
The witchcraft of the Middle Ages turned the black cat into a creature that changed shape and helped perform rituals and spells for the witch.
If a black cat walks towards you, it brings good fortune, but if it walks away, it takes the good luck with it. Mothers should always keep cats away from babies because they "suck the breath" of the child.
If we watch cats while they snuggle up to us on our laps, they will come close to the mouth and sniff. One can imagine how this might have seemed, given the fear of dark forces, like a sucking motion that might endanger a child by sucking out its life.
Many people today still fear the black cat that crosses our path.
But remember, cats are wonderfully independent creatures; they obey no one. Because they are not obedient, in some circles they have a bad reputation - similar to independent women. But what kind of world would it be without cats - or independent women?

Chimney-SweepThe chimneysweep, by virtue of his blackened face and his connection with fire and hearth, is a very lucky person to meet by chance. He should be bowed to and greeted. It is customary to make a wish on seeing him, and those who do so confidently believe that the wish will be granted.
If he meets a bridal procession it is a very good omen, and doubly so if he offeres good wishes. From time to time, Press photographs of such fortunate wedding encounters appear in news-papers. This is a sure sign that the tradition is still very much alive.
I personally will not let any chance go by without making a wish upon seeing a chimneysweep. I still have too many wishes, and meet just not enough chimneysweeps. Jenny

ChicoryChicory was believed to have the power of making its possessor invisible. It could also open doors or boxes if it was held against the locks. These charms, however, would only work if the plant was gathered at noon or at midnight on St James's Day (July 25th). It had to be cut with gold and in perfect silence; if the gatherer spoke during the operation, he would die, either at once or shortly afterwards.
Chicory perhaps owes its magical reputaion to the lovely blue of its flower, which may have caused it to be identified or confused with the Luck-Flower of German folklore. This also was blue and whoever carried it could make rocks open before him, and so gain entry into the subterranean regions beyond. Several legends relate how some bold adventurer came to an unknown cavern, and there found gold and treasures which he was allowed to take for himself. In most versions of this tale, the ending is tragic. The man, excited by so much sudden wealth, forgets the all-important flower when he leaves and the rocks close upon him as he passes through them to the outer world, and either injure him seriously, or kill him outright.

CloverClover was one of the anti-witch plants which protected human beings and animals from the spell of magicians and the wiles of fairies, and brought good luck to those who kept it in the house. It could be used in love-divinations; and to dream of it was very furtunate indeed, since such a dream foretold a happy and prosperous marriage.
Although all clover has this magical power, it was the rare four-leaved kind that was especially powerful. Such a plant, when found, enabled the finder to see fairies, detect witches, and regognize evil spirits. The good luck became even more powerful if the four leaved clover was presented as a gift. The receiver was safe from all malicious enchantments.
There is a story in the Denham Tracts of a girl who, when returning from milking, saw fairies dancing in the field. No one else could see them, though she pointed them out. She was normally not second-sighted, and it was afterwards discovered that the source of her vision lay in the circular pad she wore on her head to support the milk-pail. Amongst the grasses with which it was stuffed was a four-leaved clover.

EarsThe ear is part of the head which is often hidden and forgotten, yet it is the single, most sensitive region of the body as fas as acupuncture is concerned. There are over a hundred acupuncture points in the ear connected with organs and specific parts of the body.

Ringing of Ears
A ringing of ears is a great ill omen if you can't count or recite the alphabet.
As soon as the ringing occurs you must ask someone else for a number and then count the letters of the alphabet until you arrive at the given number. The corresponding letter will then be the first letter of the name of the person one can expect to marry.
Ringing in the ears was called "News Bells", and the appropriate letter could also apply to someone thinking or talking about you.

Burning of Ears
A common idea even today is that when the ear is burning, others are gossiping.
In the original lore the superstition was refined to give a more precise idea of the reason behind the burning ear.
Left for love and right for spite:left or right, good at night.Of course, you have a very resourceful counter attack for your condition. In case your right ear is burning, pinch it. The person who is speaking spitefully of you will immediately bite his or her tongue.

Divination

DIVINATION.

Aeromancy:
.Divination from atmospheric conditions ranging from halos around the sun or moon to the unexpected appearance of heavenly bodies such as the comet of 44bc., which preceded the Norman Conquest of England. Mirages have also been responsible for omens of this type, as were the famous "Bowmen of mons," huge spectral figures seen by British soldiers during World war 1, which encourages them to hold off the attacks of superior German forces, a phenomenon still not fully explained by natural means.
Alectryomancy or Alectoromancy..........still finish

Astromancy:
The ancient forerunner of astrology, as developed in Babylon and later carried to Greece, ascribing heavenly thrones to gods as represented by the sun, moon, and planets. From their movements wise men divined the purpose of such deities, taking into account the phases of the moon, eclipses, the proximity of planets to the brighter fixed stars, and other phenomena, including the positions of constellations other than those forming the signs of the zodiac. As examples, the new moon rising in a cloudy sky presaged victory in a coming battle, while if it failed to rise at an anticipated time, it became an omen of defeat. with the advance of astrology as a science, the casting of horoscopes and other exact calculations supplanted the old traditions and astromancy dwindled in importance. Its systems are largely obsolete, but its lore has survived as modern superstitions, such as expecting bad luck if you look at the moon over your left shoulder, or making a quick wish if you see a falling star.
Austromancy:

Axinomancy:
Primarily used as a mode of finding a guilty person, this consisted of heating an ax head, setting it upright, placing a marble on it, and turning it slowly till the marble rolled in someones direction. treasure can presumably be uncovered by the same procedure. Another way is to suspend a hand ax or hatchet from a string attached to its handle, start it twirling and see to whom it points when it stops. A third and perhaps the best method is to drive the ax blade into the top of a post and let it waver there, while a group dances around the post. When the ax finally falls, its handle is supposed to point to the culprit if he is still around. If he has gone, it will point to the direction that he took.
Belomancy:
Dating from the time of ancient Babylon, this type of divination depends on tossing arrows to determine the direction a person was to take. Later, the arrows were handled like divining rods and the famous historian Herodotus (450bc) tells how Scythian soothsayers spread bundles of such rods upon the ground and interpreted each in turn. In still another form of belomancy, arrows bearing various inscriptions were drawn at random, so their advice could be followed. Capnomancy:
Early wise men, observing the smoke from sacrificial fires, noted that if it rose straight, clear weather was in order, hence they pronounced it as a good omen. while if it hung low, a storm threatened, so they called it a bad omen. Such was the origin of capnomancy, which up until modern times was still practiced the European peasantry, who lighted bonfires on special occasions and let the direction of the smoke decide whether the harvest would be good or bad. The indoor version of this divinatory game was to throw various substances upon a hearth fire and study the resulting smoke or fumes, interpreting them according to stipulated rules.
Cardtomancy.......#####################
Catoptromancy or Catoxtromancy:
Divination with the aid of a magic mirror. This originated in Persia and spread throughout the ancient world. Two techniques were used: In one the mirrow was suspended in a pool of water: in the other it was turned to catch the light of the moon. Either way, it showed mysterious reflections revealing future events. This practices increased through the years, reaching its peak during the middle ages with such remarkable results that it is highly probable that concave mirrors were used to reflect distorted images or other scenes. However simple magic mirrows are still used, their surface being painted a glossy black, and some persons who gaze into their depths claim to see visions there.

Cleidomancy or Clidomancy:
A very mysterious form of divining in which a key is suspended y a thread several inches in length, which in turn is wrapped around a persone finger, so that the dangling key can rotate, swing back and forth or become immobile. Upon questions being asked, mentally or verbally, the answers are interprted according to the actions of the key. From this has developed a popular modern devise termed the "exploratory pendulum" Which consists a ball hanging from a string, which should revolve for "yes" and swing for "no" or visa versa, according to tests with individuals operators. The pendulum is also supposed to swing to in the correct direction when looking for a lost article or missing person in the locality or when held hung over a map.
In earlier forms of cleidomancy, more elaborate measures were used, one favorite method being to open a bible at a certain psalm or at the first page of a specific gospel . A large key was inserted there, with its loop extended up from the pages and the book was firmly tied with string to hold the key in place. The loop of the key is hung upon the third finger of a girls left hand and either she or a diviner resites scriptural quotations according to an established formula. In another variant, the key is held in place by two persons, each pressing a fore finger against an opposite edge.
Either way, names of persons are finally called off, and if one happens to be guilty of some theft or other crime, the key is supposed to turn at mention of his name.

The handles of the shears are then pressed in opposite direction by two different persons, using their respective thumbs or fingers until the sieve begins to turn. For sure results, the operator should pronounce the words "(will not put them in the brew)." That will promptly bring a "demon' to his aid.
Crithomancy or Critomancy:
Opinions vary reguarding this mode of divination. All agree that it involves corn or other grain used in sacrificial rites, but the procedure may range from forming patterns with the kernels , or the flour ground from them, to a study of the dough used for baking cakes, or the actual cakes themselves.
Croniomancy:
Onions figure in this long range divinatory process. Names or other significant items are written on different onions which are planted in due-ceremony. Careful check is kept of each, and the first onion that sprouts will respresent the person or thing chiefly concerned.
Cyclomancy:
Divination depending upon a revolving devise. Dating from time immemorial, this has its modern counter parts in the "jury wheel"from which lisred names are drawn to determined the members of a jury panel; and the so called "wheel of fortune seen at country fairs, which stops on prize winning numbers. In both cases, the decision of the wheel is automaticaly fulfilled, so it is not surprising that many people believe that questions concerning their future can be answered by a similar contrivance. Spinning arrows may be used instead of revolving wheels for telling fortunes; and on the lighter side cyclomancy has survived in various parlor games, such as "spin the bottle".
Dactylomancy:
Broadly, this covers divinations utilizing finger rings, but that should exclude cases where such rings are used chiefly as adjuncts to some cabalistic ritual, as in necromancy. Greek and Roman Rings supposedly prodused divinatory results when inscribed with words suited to their names. By the middle ages the names of the three wise men-Casper, Melchior, and Balthasar- were popular as inscriptions. Later, the custom was applied to wedding bands, which had the words "love and obey" engraved on the inside, but such a negative prediction could be nulified if the bride crossed her fingers. Gems , too had power when set in rings, but they promised a vast variety of benifits, ranging from invisibility to immunity from snake bites, so only a few were specifically associated with divation. Of those, the turquoise was outstanding and a popular procedure was to attach a turquoise ring to a string and dangle it within a goblet, where it would begin to swing and tell the hour by clicking against the sides of the glass.or even spell out words, if the letters of the alphabet were recited until the final clink.Since the diviner holds the string between his thumb and forefinger, this is practically a form of cleidomancy, with a ring being used instead of a key, hence any type of ring will do unless the diviver finds that it takes one set with turquoise to put him in the right mood. There is also an ancient form of dactylomancy practised with rings composed of different metals, which were placed on certain fingers according to planetary conditions then prevailing; hence it might properly be termed a form of astromancy.
Daphnomancy:
An ancient Greek divination in which questions of great moments were answered in varying degrees of "yes" and "no" by throwing laura leaves on a fire. The louder the leaves crackled, the better the omen: the more profound the silence, the worse.Since the laural had to be plucked from a grove sacred to apollo and tossed on an equally sacred fire, it is doubtful that the process would work now, even if it did back then.

Many omens concerning the gathering of flowers at "mid summer eve" have survived modern times;and the "good luck" commonly attributed to the finding of a four-leafed clover falls in this catrgory.
Gastromancy:
Purported divination through mysterious voicesthat are actually produced by ventriloquism, as the term itself means" stomach speaker" indicating that such deception was recognized in ancient times. Presumably, the voice came from trees, rivers, deep in the ground, or where ever else the diviner pointed. Modern spirit mediums have improved on this by going into pretended trances or working in complete darkness to convey the impression that the voices came from another world.
Gelomancy:
Predictions gained by translating hysterical laughter into tangible terms. Probably a carry over from the ancient oracles, where persons inhaled natual gas from volcanic fissures as prophecies that determined the state of nations. A useful devise for political conventions.
Geomancy:
This runs the gamut from tracing mystic figures in the sand to throwing stones on the ground and studying the patterns that they form. Such figures have been classed as signs of the zodiac, with the stones representing positions of the planets, thus linking geomancy with astromancy, but those may be reguarded as exceptional cases. Geomancy's contribution to divination is probably more random in nature, forming the basis of the mystic oracle.
Gyromancy:
Originally performed by persons moving around a circle marked with letters or symbols, until they became dizzy or stumbled, thus spelling out words or enabling a diviner intepret the symbols. From this, according to some authorities, developed wild, whirling dances by fanatics who uttered prophecies after collapsing in a state of complete exaustion. Hydromancy:
This relates to forms of divination with water, which natually figures in other types of predictions involving various objects, which are there fore listed under seperate heads. In some cases, however, water plays such an important part that they must be reguarded as hydromancy despite the presence of those other factors.
One method is to study the depths of a placid pool, noting any images or symbols that appear therein, interpreting them as seems most fit. This is similar to using a magic mirror (as with catoptromancy) or gazing into a crystal ball ( as with chrystallmancy) but on a large scale. However, if results are slow, another type of hydromancy may be used; that of dropping three stones into a pool and noting any figures or other effects caused by the ripples. For best results the first stone should be round, the second triangle and the third square Diviners who use this method generally referred to special lists that told the proper interpretations to be given to various ripples.
Another time-honoured method was to invoke any "evil spirit" that dwelled in the neibourhood of the pool or stream. This demanded knowledge of cabalistic ceremonies, with all the danger accompanying such work, putting it into the catagory of demonamncy. However, it is still depended on hydromancy to a marked degree, since the demons mode of answering was by inscribing words on the surface of the water. Often, these were visable to the seer alone, and they had to be read quickly while they lasted, as they were invariably written backwards, to prove that they were the devils work.
Methods of hydromancy that were both safer and simper included casting offerings, such as bread, into the pool. If they remained there, it was a good omen; if they drifted ashore before they sank, it boded ill. This may account for the still popular custom of throwing coins into a fountain for good luck, as they are sure to sink and stay there, Where names of persons are involved, the old way of picking one through hydromancy was to write each name on a seperate stone and toss them all in a pool. Later, the stones were fished out and if all the names were washed off, or nearly so, with the exception of one, that name represented the personto whom the question pertained.A modern combination of these methods, which is simpler, easier and more convenient , is the floating ship.
Ichthyomancy:
Divination by the examination of fish offered for a sacrifice, This can be extended to include the actions of living fish, Which have many traditional interpreations, some still popular with present day fishermen.
Idolomancy:
Use of images or idols for purposes of divination. The answers may come through dreams, by drawing lots, or anything else that the believes may attribute to the power of such images. SOme ancient oracles belong in this catagory, and pagan priests often spoke from within hollow statues to give direct replies to questions regarding the furure. In many cases, idolomancy has been closely identified with "demonomancy" in as much as the idols simply represent the demons who are supposed to inhabit them when properly invoked.
Kleidomancy:
The same as cleidomancy.
Lampadomancy:
Use of lamps for divinatory purposes, according to the appearence or duation of their flames. The ancient Egyptians held a "feast of lamps" at which many rites were performed, including divination; and its modern counter part in India is held in honour of the goddess of prosperity, Lakshmi, on the new moon of the month of kartik, which begins about the middle of october. Logarithmancy:
A mathamatical method of divination performed with the aid of logarithms. Now surplanted by modern computers.Lychnomancy:
Divination from the flames of three identical candles set in a triangle. These are lighted and there flames are interprted as follows----- If wavering back and fourth, a change of circumstances. If twisting, spiral fashion, beware of secret plotters. Rising and falling flames, real danger. One flame brighter than the others, good furtune. A sputtering flame, disappointment soon due. A bright point at the tip of a wick, increasing success, but short lived if the point fades. For a candle to extinguish itself, severe loss for the consultant or others participating.
Macharomancy:
Use of swords, daggers and knives as instrumentss of divination, presumably of ancient origin.
Margaritomancy:
A singular procedure requiring a charmed pearl that is placed in a pot and covered with a lid. Names of persons suspected of theft or some other crime are then recited, and at the right name the pearl jumps up and strikes the lid. The biblical account of the" witch of endor" is a good example of its practises in ancient times. and it rose to formidable proportions during the middle ages, including all forms of divination along with sorcery and witchcraft under the general head of black arts. Broadly, it can be defined as "phychic perception" attained through the astral counterparts of the five physical senses, thus including such factors as clairvoyance, precognition, automatic writing, and coherent messages obtained from a ouija board. Since these are often mistaken for communications, Psychomancy is sometimes linked with necromancy, or the evoking of the dead.
Pyomancy:
This covers a wide range of fire omens. If a sacrificial fire kindled slowly or uncertainly, the prospect was bad indeed. If rapidly and evenly was the best signs. With ordinary fires, omens were obtained by throwing substances such as powdered peas or pitch upon the flames: the more padidly these were consumed the better. In the northern climes, where winter nights were long, these traditions carried on through the middle ages and were common to every hearth and home. Sudden sparks from knotty logs, coloured flames from burning driftwood, curious shapes caused by flames or smoke, all were accepted as omens, good or bad.
Rhabdomancy:
Use of a wand is found is found in the earliest forms of magical ritual, hence it not only became an important adjunct in many types of divination, but served that purpose in its own right. Held in the hand of a true mystic, a wand might dip in the manner of an arrow, or turn in the fashion of a wheel, hence its use as a final convincerincreased with the years. From this developed the divination process of rhabdomancy, utilizing a fork stick, held by the y shape branches, one in each hand, so that the stem could serve as a pointer in uncovering hidden treasure, lost objects, or missing persons. The tenddency of the rod to dip made especially popular in locating mines or other minerals, but its use in that field waned. Instead, the forked rod became the property of modern dowsers, a a group of hard-headed down to earth practitioners, who use it chiefly to find under water springs or under ground streams. However, their efforts are not confined to "water Witching" as critics of the process still term it. Some of the older claims have been revived and demonstrated with sufficent success to gain the art a degree of scientific notice under the head of radiesthesia, which is being studied as a form of ESP, thus supplanting much of the superstition that was found in old-time rhabdomancy.

As you already knew, suicide is a major problem among teenagers around the world. By perhaps you have not heard the terrifying statistics and reports done about such a tragity. So basically, I feel that it is my duty to share some information with you, because this problem is very real - and has claimed the lifes of millions.

In the year 1996, a survey was completed by 11,000 high school students. This survey was completed four years ago, and since then the numbers continue to rise, however the results of this survey are shocking - and many have no idea about what a real problem suicide is...

Students were asked to answer questions about the previous 12 months, note that this included one year beforehand - not their entire life. The results of this test were amazing...

24.1% of all the students had seriously thought about killing themselves.
17.7% of all the students had made plans about killing themselves (date included)
8.7% of all the students attempted suicide.
2.8% of the students attempted suicide which required emergency medical care.

And the most shocking information that this survey that was released was that every year, suicide takes more lifes them homocides do - which is a very large number.

So what can you do about it? Well, to be honest, you can do many things. There are many groups working out in the world in hopes of getting other people to talk about the pain they are going through, rather then building it up inside them. Many groups work one on one with people that are having problems in life whether it be with friends, or death. So is it not our job to reach out to these people that are begging for help? I personally think that we should do everything in our power to do so - and that is why I have provided you with this information.

Sure - Why not help? Well saying you can help is the first step, and very important at that, but actually helping is far more important. So how about trying to work with others that may be going through some of these issues? You can even do so online!

Some of you may know what my job online is, and some of you may not, but basically I am offering you an online job now (not for me - but for the people). Equal People Organization believes in, and fully supports Equality among all people, no matter what their race, faith, origin, and so on. Equal People actively supports this idea, and by doing so we come across many different type of people - many which ask for adivce, help and need some assistance. Therefore Equal People has a group of volunteers working around the clock to help other people. This group has also setup the "Advice Line", an open forum where people can seek other people. However Equal People is always in need of more volunteers, because of the fact that the people that come across the site are growing at a rapid pace. So I do ask that you at least look into the group and tell me what you think about it...any comments and questions are welcomed. (I am saying this because I am the Founder and WebMaster). This past month Equal People was choosen to be honored on the "National Wall of Tolerance" which is currently being built, and this seems to have attracted quite a number of people, so we are in desperate need of new volunteers. We offer live, online training with someone who is certified to teach such classes, as well as informative information and a chance for you to save lifes. So please visit this site (www.EqualPeople.org) and if you have any questions email: Founder@EqualPeople.org, and I will get back with you ASAP!

You CAN make a difference!

Another group to check out (if you would like something other then Equal People) would be Yellow Ribbon and the Movement Against Teen Suicide. You can visit this site by going to: http://www.YellowRibbon.org.

Thanks for your time! Now go out and do something about it...

MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Here Be Dragons

Here Be Dragons!

From earliest memory the dragon has been a creature who's mythology has shown itself across many cultures around the world. From the Egyptian Tiamat, to the biblical Leviathan. From years without number to modern times, there are tales of beings of immense power, often described with similar traits.

They have appeared in differing forms, but are usually recognisable in the description as being dragon. Here I hope to show some of the various kinds of dragons.

From myth to magick.

The Buddha on Belief

The Buddha on Belief
From The Kama Sutra

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have

heard it. Do not believe simply because it has been

handed down for many generations. Do not believe

in anything simply because it is spoken, and rumored

by many. Do not believe in anything simply because

it is written in holy scriptures. Do not believe in

anything merely on the authority of teachers, elders,

or wise men. Believe only after careful observation,

and analysis. When you find that it agrees with

reason, and is condusive to the good, and benefit

of one and all. Then accept it, and live up to it."

Totem Animals

Totem Animals

Totem animals, Animal spirits, Animal guides. No matter what you call them Animals are there in our world as mesengers, guides, and teachers. They are our link to nature, and they are part of our world.

The animals, insects and birds that we see on a day to day basis may have special messages, all we have to do is learn how to listen. Perhaps in learning to understand the language of the animals we can learn to better understand ourselves.

"The animal world has much to teach us. Some animals are experts at survival and adaptation. There are times when we can use those same skills. Some animals never get cancerous conditions. Wouldn't it be wonderful to learn their secrets? Some are great nurturers and protectors. Some have great fertility and others have great gentleness. Some embody strength and courage, while others can teach playfulness. THe animal world shows us the potentials we can unfold. But to learn from them, we must first learn to speak with them." - Ted Andrews in the introduction to "Animal Speak"

In the following pages I will show a sample shamanic voyage to meet with your animal totems, as well as a few of the different messages, or powers of various animals. We are as much a part of their world as they are of ours, it therefore makes some sense to learn from them.

"If you talk to the animals
they will talk to you
and you will know each other.
If you do not talk to them,
you will not know them,
and what you do not know
you will fear.
What one fears one destroys."
-Chief Dan George
as quoted in the book "Animal Speak" by Ted Andrews

Spirit Guides

Spirit Guides

Spirit Guides are entities -- physical and non-physical -- who have chosen to aid others on the path to spiritual enlightenment as we are about to ascend.
Most spirit guides have had incarnations on the physical Earth plane, as well as other realms. They, like yourself, may exist there multidimensionally at this time.
Spirit guides can be aspects of yourself.
Guides may remain with you for a lifetime, or may may come and go depending on your needs and theirs.
They are beings of light that may physically appear to you in humanoid form so you mind can conceptualize them better.
You can ask a spirit guide to leave, and they must comply.
You can request additional guides / and or angels if you want to work with guides on higher levels. We all have spirit guides. The average number of guides is 5, usually a mix of male and female. Each guide generally comes in for a specific purpose in our lives.
Other aspects of your soul
Spiritual guardians
Healers
Help with your creative work
Have a past life connection to you
Are deceased relatives or close friends
Extraterrestrials
Many guides are our soul mates which is why we can not find our true love in the physical. Some guides stay with you for your entire lifetime. Others stay for many years then leave. You can ask a spirit guide to leave if you so chose. You can ask to have another brought to help you evolve. They 'speak' to you in many ways. Sometimes they are the little voice you hear in your head - thoughts. Often times they speak to you in dream state, meditation, altered states of consciousness, through the synchronistic things that occur in your life, through, art, music, dance, or acting. If they really want to make a point they will drop something on you like a book, as if to say, "Pay attention!" Spirit guides travel interdimensionally. They travel with us at night when we sleep. They teach us at that time. Most can not manifest into physical form, as they are pure energy, but will present you with a likeness of themselves as best they can.
Meeting Your Spirit Guides
Note - Meeting you spirit guides is a form of channeling. As with all channeling - this is not for everyone. If you have deep psychological problems - or find the guides you connect with to be negative or bring negative messages - please stop channeling. Thes exercises are to bring light and information. They could trigger your fears and cause anxiety if you want your answers to be ONLY the way you want your life to run. It is meant to help you talk to spirit in the light. It means that they will address things with you in a way that you understand - and is in your best interests based on your soul needs.
Day One: Are you there?
You are going to ask only 'yes or no' questions for the first few days. All questions can only be asked ONCE.
Telepathic communication with spirit is called clairaudience. These are the thoughts you get when you make the connection.
They may be accompanied by physical sensations such as:
A pressure on top of your head. This is the opening of the crown chakra.
A sensation on the left side of the body or face. This is the right side of the brain - the intuitive side - opening.
Sit down in a quiet place. You do not have to prepare as you would for meditation. Do not close your eyes. Listen to your thoughts only!!
Think, "Hello! Are you there?"
Relax and allow the answer to come naturally.
You should hear a thought message with an affirmative answer.
We are going to ask 'yes / no questions' that are not personal.
"Is it sunny today?"
You should hear the answer.
"Is today Sunday?"
Continue a line of simple questions. You may stop and prepare them along the way. Spirit is there all the time to guide.
Get used to the idea of 'listening' to simple messages.
Day 2: Getting to Know your spirit guide
Again use only 'yes / no' questions - with one exception - today we find out the name of your main spirit guide. You can prepare
Ask your question . . . then pause . . . listen to your thoughts . . . connect with the answer.
Greet you guide with whatever greeting you chose.
See your frequency connecting with his / hers.
Allow your thoughts to connect.
Ask, "Are you ready to answer questions?"
Wait for an affirmative answer. It should be immediate.
Ask, "Are you male?" (You may have already determined that by the tonal frequency of the messages). "Are you female?"
"I would like to know your name. Can you tell it to me please."
If you have trouble getting the name - listen hard - then come as close to what you 'hear' as you can. Spirit will accept whatever name you give.
"Do you like the name - - - - - -?"
Continue by asking more general questions.
You can write down questions and answers.
Day 3: Past Lives with your Guide
Prepare questions. Get comfortable. Greet your spirit guide. More 'yes / no' questions.
Ask, "Did we know each other in a past life?"
"Were we family?"
Ask the about the nature of the relationship? Wife- husband? Mother - child?
"Have we been together more than once? More than 5 times? Etc.
Ask questions about the times spent togther.
Have I ever been your spirit guide while you lived on the Earth plane?
Have you always been in my life - in this incarnation?
Day 4: Talking to your guide about the Universe
Prepare a set of 'yes - no' questions pertaining to the Universe. Do not ask personal questions at this time.
Sample questions:
Did Earth ever exist in another dimension?
Is there life on other planets?
Do entities watch us from UFO's?
Were you ever an alien?
Are there angels?
Do they have a heirachy?
Do they help souls move to the next realms?
Day 5: Talking to your guide about reality and other dimensions?
Are there many dimensions?
Are there entities in those dimensions?
Can a soul exist in more than one dimension?
Does the future co-exist with the past and present?
Is this reality a holographic projection?
Do we have free will?
Day 6: Getting Personal
By now you should feel comfortable with your guide.
Today we will begin some personal spiritual questions. Do not ask about your romantic life or job! We will basically ask 'yes - no' questions. Some easy questions may be asked that require explanation.
Are you my only spirit guide?
How many do I have?
I would like to meet another guide today. Please have another guide come to talk with me.
What is your name?
Do you work with - - - (name the first guide)?
What is your function in my life? This can be asked of both guides.
Am I on the right spiritual path?
Will you guide me to the next part of my spirit journey?
Should I be working as a healer?
Do I meditate enough?
Do I need to take classes to guide me?
Will you lead me to a book or home page to further learn what I have to?
Is my current teacher - if you have one - OK? - Or is it time to move on?
Do I need to move to a new location to find my destiny? If yes - name places - still ask only 'yes - no' answers.
Continue questions. Take notes. DO NOT ask for long detailed explanations.
It might be fun to ask a question of each guide to see if you can tell the difference in their frequency thus getting more familiar with them. Address your guides by name. This takes practice for some people. For those who have been listen to their guides for years - without realziing that they were connecting to spirit - this will be easy. They will say, "Ah! that is the one who has been telling me all of those jokes in my mind all of those years. You will remember back to spirit guiding you through various decisions, boring situations, saving your life, other. Take time with this. There is no hurry! Spirit has no time table.
Day 7: Chatting with your Guide about your biological or adopted family relationships
Today we will focus on the subject of your biological or adopted family relationships. This is NOT to reference your love life, marriage, family you have created as an adult.
We will ask only 'yes - no' questions.
"Tune in' to your guide mentally. Open the third eye. (This is a physical eye - pineal gland. It actually looks up. It is not on your forehead as is written. It is at the base of the brain).
You may greet your guide in any way you wish.
Sample questions:
Are members of my biological family from my past lives? Give names? If you are adopted - use this for biolgical and adopted family members.
Ask various questions about the members of your family in relationship to you and to each other.
It is fine to discuss members of the family who have passed over.
Ex. - Is the soul of - - - (Person is deceased) - the same soul as - - - (person is living)?
Do I have my strongest karma in this lifetime with - - - - -names given.
Did - - - (name) - - and I have a bad relationship in another lifetime? Do I own him / her something karmically? Is that karmic debt over? If yes - Can I release that family member from my life now?
Is my main karma in this lifetime to be the Caretaker of - - -(name person - usually the parent).
Does my soul have other biological families other than the one I know in 3D?
Is this another aspect of my soul experiencing on 3D now?
Is this in another realm?
If you believe you are a walk- in, ask about all family members - theirs and yours.
I have dreamed of parents on another planet - is this a reality? Past life? Parallel life?
- - - - -(name) - abused me as a child. Can I forgive (name) and balance the energies now?
Adoption questions:
Is my biological mother alive? Ask further about her - your father - siblings. Do I need to find them for karmic reasons? Will I find them? Does my biological mother want to know me?
You can include questions about foster parents if you feel connected.
Don't forget grandparents - and other relatives you knew while growing up.
Ask your guide if a deceased member of the family is available to speak with you. Ex. Can you bring my mother to speak with me?
You may have to pause to wait for another spirit to arrive.
You may smell flowers, or have other sensory experiences.
If you need to ask forgiveness about something - this is the time to do so.
Day 8 - Your Career / Job
Today we will be continuing with 'yes-no' questions. I know that many readers want to address their love life - but after we worked with family issues yesterday I would prefer to move to a subject that is not as emotionally based today. Though the work place can have many emotional issues attached to it.
Begin with a greeting to your guide and perhaps prepare a list of questions for today.
I am psyching that some of your answers are not a clear cut 'yes or no'. In that case - the information has yet to be determined based on other factors. We will move past 'yes or no' questions next week. We still want to keep things easy and direct.
Begin with a greeting to your guide. You may chose the same guide each day or ask for another guide. This does not mean that you can ask them each the same question. There is generally one main guide who is a partner to you and would be the one who you would address.
You can tell your guide that you are here today to discuss your job / career - but in all probability - he / she already knows that.
Sample questions:
Is the career I have chosen a lifetime career?
Will I have various changes in careers in this lifetime?
Will I have jobs or should I go to school and train for a career?
Women: Would I truly be happier at home raising a family and changing diapers? Would I be happier working part time?
To find my career - do I need formal education? training?
Am I best suited to be a - create a list of desired job choices.
(I know that most people would like to own their business - but you have to be realistic when asking that question.)
Businesses: Would I do better alone? With one partner? Two partners? Can I trust - - - ??
Will my business merge? Evolve into something else? Fail?
Is my job a 'dead-end' job?
Does my boss appreciate my work? Do I have personal conflict in the office?
Will my race / ethnic background, etc. impede my chances for finding my suited career? - to move upward in my career?
Am I settling for less than I could be because I am lazy?
Am I smarter than I realize?
Could I return to school after years of absence?
Can I find a career that I am 'passionate' with?
I want to work in Metaphysics. Can I earn a living working in that field? Can I work part time in metaphysics?
Will I get a promotion in 1999? 2000? other?
Will I stay at this job until I retire?
Will there be a 'buy-out'?
Can I work from home? With my computer?
You will think of dozens of questions.
Day 9 - My Love Life
You are finally ready to ask 'yes - no' questions about your love life. Now this is where things get tricky as the ego always 'kicks in' here.
Remember first answers count!
You are ready to begin.
Sample questions if you have a partner now . . .
Is - - - (name partner) my soul mate?
Are we together because we have karma to work out?
Do I owe - - - a karmic debt? Does - - - - owe me a debt? Do we both owe each other?
Is - - - my lifetime partner or will I have another?
Is my partner growing spiritual as I am? Is this important to keeping us together?
Have we grown apart?
Am I holding on to a relationship that is over?
Does - - - - really love me?
Can - - - - love in a spiritual way?
Does my low self esteem enter the picture?
Why do I stay with - - - ? Name choices - money - children - scared to live alone - other.
If you are gay you can ask . . .
Is there a reason I came in gay? Genetic? karmic?
Was I prejudiced in a past life?
Are there learning lesson here?
Does my soul prefer a male - (or female) role?
Is this the first time I came in gay?
Am I a gay male to hold female frequency, which I would not be able to do if I was straight?
Am I afraid to admit that I am gay?
If you are single you could ask . . .
Will I find a soul mate?
Does my soul mate exist on the Earth plane now - in a physical body?
Is my soul mate my spirit guide?
Will I marry? - live with someone - ?
Do I need therapy to maintain a relationship?
Do I sabotage relationships?
Will I ever have a child (if childless).
Is the life time commitment partner what I really want - or would I prefer to change partners as my needs and theirs change?
Would my soul's needs best be met - by living alone? with a mate?
I have searched for a partner all of my life. I am now 40 and have never met the perfect partner. Is this because - I am too picky? I really don't have a partner here? I will not marry?
Is my destiny on Earth other than marriage and children?
Is my karma - parental caretaker?
Day 10 - My goals in life
Time for 'yes-no' questions about your goals in life. Next week we go for questions other than 'yes-no'. Had to fix up my Spirt Guide file yesterday. Fixed up automatic writing as well.
By now you should sense that your guide is near you and ready to answer your questions. Greet him / her in whatever way you chose.
Sample questions.
Are my goals in life realistic?
Should I see the 'sky the limit' when creating my goals?
Do I need to change my goals pertaining to - love life? marriage? work? other?
Will I ever realize my goals?
Think of other questions.
Day 11 - Your Love Life - Let's get to it . . .
Today we will talk to spirit but seek detailed answers. Only the first answer is the correct answer.
I am sure that many readers have already moved into conversations with their guides - but for those who have no - let us begin today.
Decide on the guide you wish to work with. Prepare a few questions or subjects to discuss. Greet your guide. Take notes.
Sample questions if single . . .
Do I have a soul mate out there? Describe him / her to me . . . physical description - age - career - astrological sign - where the person lives.
How will we meet? internet? introduction? social occasion? chance meeting? other?
Will that person be ready for a full time commitment? If not - why?
Tell me about past lives with that person?
I have just met - - - - - ? Is this my true soul mate? Ask detailed questions.
If married . . . ask why you and - - - - are together - karma? love? soul mates? money? afraid to be alone? discuss with your guide.
Day 12 - Job Questions and detailed answers . . .
Tday we are going to ask job questions with more detailed answers. Let's begin . . .
Am I working in the right career? If not, what would you suggest?
Am I emotionally capable of going back to school to further my career? Ask for suggestions for courses?
If someone is bothering you at work - ask what you can do to balance the situation - other than quitting.
Is a co-worker 'back stabbing' me? Find out why.
Continue a line of questions about career - job - relocation - your emotional aspects connected to your job - et MUSICAL MEDITATION TO MEET YOUR SPIRIT GUIDE SPIRIT GUIDES: LINK WITH CHAKRAS
